The Caraway Model

The Caraway classroom uses a holistic approach fostering passion for learning in a safe challenging and joyful learning environment. The outcomes of the Alberta Program of Studies and the interests of the student, guide the learning.

Edmonton Public Schools provides Caraway students and families with:

an integrated approach to studying subjects outlined in the Alberta Program of Studies
a thematic/project based classroom approach which uses the interests of the student and the Alberta Program of Studies to guide and support learning
inquiry based classrooms that include multi-age groupings
classrooms which honor and encourage child led learning
a school atmosphere and staff which welcome, support and advocate for family and community involvement
a program based on the democratic process that seeks to instill a sense of social justice
confident, reflective, self-directed individuals
